SURFING ON THE SAND

The mission is to explore the ‘holy land’ and promote the sport of surfing in Egypt and Israel.

VISION

To see surfers passion increase for other extreme sports such as sand boarding and skating and to dive into the rich history that these three nations hold.

PAST

Surfing The Nations first explored these three nations in 2007. Surfing the Mediterranean Sea proved to be more challenging than we thought due to the storm swell and not ground swell. Meeting one of the most amped surfers in Egypt, Tim Adham propelled us into the surf community as well as places that we could give back. Serving at homes for disabled kids and providing clothes for a local orphanage, inspired Tim to see surfers as a community that can make huge differences within their own cities.

PRESENT

We are currently hosting the 2nd Annual Aloha Surf Classic in Alexandria Egypt. This event is due to host 2000 people with over 50 participants. We are also pursuing joining forces with the local surf club in Tel Aviv to host a grom contest this year.

FUTURE

Surfing The Nations sees this trip as a crucial one for anyone who wants to experience the Holy Land, thru the view of a surfer. Igniting a passion for surfing within the hearts of the Egyptian and Israeli surfers is the driving force behind our commitment to these nations. We hope to continue the Aloha Surf Classic in Egypt as well as introduce it to the Israeli surfing community.

REAL STORIES

1

ANDREW CARRIER

When I went to Egypt, Israel, and Jordan, it was my first time out of North America.  It was incredible to see things first hand that I had only seen in books and movies.  But even greater than the historic sites I was able to visit, it was the people and the culture that really stuck with me.

I was able to give back and share my story with many people along the way, and I still keep in contact with some I met on that trip.  Traveling there sparked in me a love for the world, as well as the desire to go and serve people instead of just seeing what they had to offer me.
