Surfing Egypt

Bianchi Beach

It has been almost 14 days since we left Hawaii, about half way through our trip, and we are now finishing up our stay here in Alexandria. Our team spent the past 10 days in a city just outside of Alexandria called Agamy, in a part of the beach known to the locals as Bianchi Beach. This beach town is home to a group of Bedouin surfers and a family of individuals who love surf and love life to its fullest.

We started our stay with 3 full days of surf, then as the Mediterranean Sea works, when the storms leave so do the waves. So we ended up on the beach enjoying the sun and the wave-less sea. With the lack of surf we were able to spend more time with the boys on the beach and their families.

Over the past couple of days we were able to see the family dynamics within a group of surfers who were actually all one family. And even through all the conflicts of broken surfboards and family feuds, people who can surf together can definitely live together.

See you in the water!
