Part 1:
3-months being equipped to grow into the leader you’re called to be
internship completion is a prerequisite
Part 2:
A year-long commitment to use your new leadership skills to pour into the community here at STN as a part of staff
OUR LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM IS MADE TO PUSH YOU OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE. GREAT LEADERS ARE BIRTHED FROM ADVERSITY AND THE DESIRE TO OVERCOME CHALLENGES. THROUGH TEACHINGS, ADVENTURE-BASED TRAINING, THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEAD THROUGH TEACHINGS OF YOUR OWN, PIONEERING A GLOBAL TRIP, AND TAKING REINS ON A CLASS PROJECT, LTP WILL TRAIN YOU TO DO JUST THAT!
IS LTP FOR YOU?
OUR 3-MONTH INTERNSHIP PROGRAM HAS GIVEN YOU A REALLY GREAT FOUNDATION. YOU'VE BEEN POURED INTO AND ENCOURAGED TO GET RADICAL. BUT WHAT'S NEXT? IF YOU'RE READY TO LEVEL UP AND FLIP THE SCRIPT, TO START REALLY APPLYING WHAT YOU'VE LEARNED AND START POURING BACK INTO THE COMMUNITY HERE AT STN, THEN LTP IS A GREAT NEXT STEP FOR YOU.
Frequently Asked Questions
The biggest questions you might have about the LTP are answered here. Can't find what you are looking for? Fill out the form below and we'll get back to you!
-
Q. What will I be learning?
LTP builds on the strong foundation of faith and purpose you learned in Internship, and then takes you further into godly leadership. While we can’t give an exact breakdown of your weekly schedule right here, you will be engaged in a combination of biblical leadership lessons, as well as practical application on a weekly basis. Your group will be given a semester-specific project to complete, called the Ohana Service Project, which culminates at the end of your three months. You will be doing book studies and reports by top Christian leaders, as well as actually teaching leadership lessons to your peers, giving you valuable feedback and experience teaching in a classroom setting. Included in your semester is hands-on training to lead an international missions trip.
-
Q. What do my fees cover?
-Three months of housing expenses, including utilities and rent
-All classroom materials and in-program transportation costs
-Airfare and ground fees for the international missions tripNot covered are food and personal expenses.
-
Q. Can I do LTP without completing the Internship Program?
Surfing The Nations’ Internship is a prerequisite for entering the Leadership Training Program. If you have engaged in a program similar to our internship, STN leadership can discuss this and potentially waive the requirement, but this is on a case by case basis and is not guaranteed.
-
Q. Why do I need to commit 15 months if training is only 3 months?
We take pride in pouring heart and soul into all of our LTP students, equipping them with the highest caliber of training needed to become a better godly leader. Our requirement for an additional 12 months of commitment to serve at STN is based on the need we have to staff our programs and take Surfing The Nations to the next level! Welcome to the adventure!
-
Q. What job will I have at STN?
While we strive to place each student in a position that plays to their respective strengths and desires, the needs of the organization come first, and no positions can be guaranteed. We do guarantee, however, that with the right attitude, every position can be a place of growth and personal improvement!
DON'T JUST HEAR IT FROM US -
“LTP was the season where everything started to shift for me. What had only been vague ideas in my head and my heart began to take shape as I stepped out in faith and said “yes” to wholeheartedly serving the Lord. It was challenging at first—my comfort zone was completely broken open—but in that breaking came the freedom to chase after God’s will without holding back. I began to see how my passions and calling weren’t separate from the workplace, but actually had a place in it. Through this experience, I was equipped not just to lead, but to dream bigger with God—trusting that His plans for my life are more full of purpose and promise than any challenge I faced or anything I could build on my own.”
