Overview - You're Invited!
THIS TRIP IS ABOUT MORE THAN TRAVELING: IT'S ABOUT BECOMING PART OF THE COMMUNITY FOR A WEEK.
AS A TEAM, WE'LL SPEND TIME GETTING TO KNOW THE PEOPLE OF CABO, SERVING WHEREVER THERE IS A NEED, AND SUPPORTING THE VISION FOR THE NEW SURFING THE NATIONS BASE, AND SUPPORTING THE WORK ALREADY BEING DONE.
WE'LL ALSO BE SURFING TOGETHER THROUGHOUT THE WEEK. SURFING IS A BIG PART OF OUR CULTURE AND PROVIDES A UNIQUE WAY TO CONNECT WITH ONE ANOTHER, ENJOY GOD'S CREATION, AND BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH PEOPLE IN THE LOCAL SURF COMMUNITY. WHETHER WE'RE SERVING ON A PROJECT, SHARING A MEAL, OR PADDLING OUT TOGETHER, EVERY MOMENT IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO REPRESENT CHRIST WITH HUMILITY, JOY, AND LOVE.
WHY GO?
GETTING OUT OF OUR COMFORT ZONES IS A KEY INGREDIENT FOR A LIFE-CHANGING TRIP! SINCE 1997, STN OUTREACH TEAMS HAVE BEEN LEAVING THEIR COMFORT ZONES AND STUMBLING UPON UNIQUE COMMUNITIES ALL OVER THE WORLD THAT ARE BURSTING WITH BEAUTY, ADVENTURE, AND POTENTIAL. WHEN WE GO AS GIVERS WITH AN OPEN HEART, READY TO SERVE, WE END UP HAVING A TRANSFORMATIVE EXPERIENCE OURSELVES THAT BLESSES A NATION AND LEAVES A LASTING IMPACT ON EVERYONE INVOLVED.
WHY SURF?
SURFING THE NATIONS HAS DISCOVERED THAT SURFING IS A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE. AGE, SIZE, GENDER, ETHNICITY, LANGUAGE — THERE ARE NO BARRIERS THAT SURFING CAN'T CROSS! SURFING IS A UNIQUE TOOL THAT OPENS DOORS TO OPPORTUNITIES TO BE MORE GENEROUS AND MAKE A GREATER INFLUENCE. TO GO ALONG WITH SURFING, WE REALIZED THAT SWIMMING BECAME AN EVEN MORE CRUCIAL SKILL FOR OUR TEAMS TO PASS ALONG TO THESE COMMUNITIES. SWIM LESSONS HAVE NOT ONLY CHANGED LIVES, BUT ALSO LITERALLY SAVED THE LIVES OF THOSE WHO WOULD NEVER HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN OTHERWISE. IF YOU DON'T SURF (OR SWIM), NO PROBLEM! WHAT AN EPIC TIME TO TRY IT OUT AND ALSO CONNECT AND EVANGELIZE WITH PEOPLE ON THE BEACH. BRING YOUR BEST HUMAN-CONNECTING, BRIDGE-BUILDING SKILLS AND PASSIONS ALONG WITH YOU.

AIRFARE: Approx $900
GROUND FEES: $590
Costs include all accommodations, ground transportation, some surfboard/wetsuit rentals, select team meals (not all meals are covered), a team shirt, outreach supplies, and special team events & activities.
Note, Does Not Include: Individual meals or spending money. Recommend $200-$500 for spending money.

Q. What do my ground fees cover?
Ground fees will cover all your housing and team-related activities, including transportation and some meals. However, not all meals are covered, and it is advised to bring between $300 - $500 for spending money.

Q. If I'm flying in from a different location, how do my flights work?
Our trips are priced as though participants are flying from Honolulu, although we understand that is not always the case. These instances will be worked with on a case-by-case basis! We are happy to make it work for you!

Q. Will I have free time?
Our schedules are fairly packed so expect to be very busy. We do like to leave time on the margins to explore and engage in lifestyle ministry! It all depends on your leaders and the trip.

Q. Will I have access to a phone/internet?
Team members are welcome to bring their phones, and wifi is available at most public places, though not guaranteed. If you need to be more connected than that, please look into a roaming plan with your service provider or an eSim.

Q. What does housing and transportation look like?
We are moving and living as a team - that means dorm-style rooms, public transport, flexibility is the name of the game! Be prepared to share your space for most (if not all) of the trip!
